Let's talk a little about using technology to teach history. When I was looking for resources to share with you, one name kept popping up, Tom Daccord. Dr. Daccord is somewhat of an expert on using technology for teaching history and is a driving force behind The Center for Teaching History with Technology. This site offers a host of resources - lesson plans, a newsletter, AP history tools - the list goes on.
Other resources you may find helpful: a vodcast (video podcast), History Starting Point, Digital History.
History doesn't have to be all lecture any more. There are many other ways to engage our students in today's electronic age. Challenge yourself and your students to find and use alternative methods for making history come alive!!

This website, The Center for Teaching History with Technology can enhance any history class. I am not sure teachers in the Social Studies Department at my school are aware of this resource, but I will share this website with them. You are so right history does not always have to be a lecture, integrating technology can really motivate student interest in the subject matter. Juanita
Alice, I can't wait to show this to my social studies teachers. They've become technology converts anyway, when LCD and United Streaming came into their classrooms. This will just reinforce their experience. Thanks, RobertW.
