Technology Integration - What is it??

Check out the Wikipedia definition! This is my definition - Using technology to enhance classroom instruction, provide instructional support, crossing multiple disciplines, while adhering to state standards. Consideration should be given to the different learning styles and intelligences of the students while taking advantage of the students' existing skills. Collaboration with other teachers will be beneficial to all. Secondary or incidental benefits to technology integration can include improved classroom behaviors, stronger listening skills, and increase student involvement in other academic/extra-curricular activities.

Alice, I think that definitions for tecnology integration are a big part of what we're doing now. We all have an idea of what t.i. is, and likely one we all share. It helps, I'm sure, to work on different definitions and write them out - after all, we'll probably discover broader and more useful definitions than we would otherwise. I'm wondering, as a second part to all this, exactly how technology integration as we know it now, is a big advantage over what we had before and why. Thanks, RobertW
